Aquamarine
Aquamarine (meaning "sea water") is one of the many forms of Beryl (Emerald, Heliodor, Morganite, Goshenite, and Bixbite). Aquamarine can be found in sea green, sky blue, and dark blue varieties. In the 19th and 20th centuries, sea green was preferred but since then, sky blue and dark blue have become more desirable and the most valuable colors. In ancient times, Aquamarine amulets engraved with Poseidon were thought to protect sailors and was believed to counteract the forces of darkness and procure favor from the spirits of light.
